2042 Termination Plan &
Email Opt-In

2042 Termination Plan

The Monarch timeshare program was established 35 years ago. At the time it was not uncommon for timeshare programs to include a termination date. Our program terminates in 2042 (Declaration of Interval Ownership, Article XVII). While 2042 is still 20+ years away, your Board of Directors believes the Association should extend our timeshare plan now, well ahead of the 2042 termination date, to secure our ownership rights with no ending.

• What does Termination mean? Article XVII of the Declaration states that unit week owners become tenants in common in 2042 unless the members of the Association meet and vote to extend the timeshare program with no end date. Becoming tenants in common would end our timeshare right to occupy our designated week(s). An in-person meeting of some 4,000 owners seems practically impossible. So, with no action, the timeshare program would end in 2042.

• The Board’s approach: Working with the Association’s attorney, develop the legal documents needed to extend our timeshare program. (This is underway now.)

• Your role as an owner: Extending our timeshare program requires approval by a vote of owners. Please:

1) Opt-in to receive Association communication via email and easily vote on Association business online.

2) Watch for Association communication coming in 2023.

3) Vote, when asked, to approve the extension of our timeshare plan.

The Board will be in touch soon with additional specifics.

Email Opt-In

YOU CAN RECEIVE IMPORTANT ASSOCIATION COMMUNICATION VIA EMAIL and SAVE MONEY

Your Board of Directors is asking every owner to “Opt-In” to receive Association documents and annual maintenance fee billing via email.

WHY?
• Lower cost for the Association (you). Approximately 20% of owners have “opted-in”. Sending documents via USPS to the remaining 80% of owners costs about $14,000 per year.

• More timely receipt of Association communication.

• No junk email – your email used for notices ONLY.

• Opt-in supports online voting for Board member elections and Association business. The Board will be recommending actions to extend our timeshare plan with no end date. Your vote is needed for this important change.

NOTE: The Marriott Vacation Club International (MVCI) website has had some major upgrades and new features added. These upgrades have led to some performance issues with the website. It is possible you may have difficulty signing up for electronic voting when you log in. If you have issues, try again later or you can call MVCI at 800-845-4226 for assistance. We apologize for any inconvenience you may experience in completing this important task essential to the Monarch timeshare experience.
